The Only Brews Worthy Of Helping You Slow Cook Beer Brats

Brats that are slow-cooked in a flavorful beer and enhanced with onions, garlic, and spices are golden brown, juicy, and delicious. A German-style beer will ultimately be the best.
Hefeweizens are full-bodied wheat beers with a sweet, fruity flavor profile with hints of banana and clove. For a seasonal approach in the fall, look for an Oktoberfest lager.
For a bit of acidity, you could add sauerkraut, but if you don't like the ingredient, you can leave it out and use a sour beer in the recipe instead.
With ales and lagers, a British-style brown or red ale will give you a beautiful color and sweet, malty notes, while a pilsner or Mexican beer will be a lighter addition.
Stay away from hoppy beers, as the heavy flavor can be overpowering. Think about what beer you’ll have with the meal, as whatever you use in the recipe will be a perfect pairing.
