The Only 2 Ingredients Alton Brown Uses For Luscious Chocolate Mousse
By ERIN SHAW
Chocolate mousse is one of those chocolate treats that you might order from a restaurant since the thought of creating it at home seems too intimidating. However, Alton Brown offers a recipe that allows you to create a luscious chocolate mousse with just two ingredients.
Brown claims that two ingredients — really good chocolate and really good eggs — are all you need. In Brown's recipe, the chocolate is first melted in a double boiler over a pot of simmering water, after which several egg yolks are whisked into the mixture.
Finally, the egg whites are whipped into a meringue and then folded into the chocolate mixture. Once the mousse is made, it's chilled until it begins to stiffen and then Brown recommends serving it in coupe champagne glasses.
