The NYC Cheese Shop Martha Stewart Adores
By KAREN HART
Like many celebrity chefs, Martha Stewart is a big fan of cheese, and even admits that she enjoys a slice of processed American cheese every now and then. However, when it comes to more sophisticated cheeses, Stewart always makes sure to visit her go-to cheese shop in New York City, which happens to be famous all on its own.
For gourmet cheese dishes or beautiful charcuterie boards, Stewart heads to Murray's Cheese Shop. This specialty store offers one of the best and biggest selections of cheeses you can find in the Big Apple, and an in-person visit is not even necessary to grab these special goods, since Murray's also sells a huge amount of products online.
Murray's flagship location in Greenwich Village has been open for over 80 years, and offers over 200 different types of artisanal cheese. The brand even runs its very own cheese caves beneath the storefront, allowing Murray's to make and age its own cheeses of many different varieties, including special wheels coated in flowers and herbs.
