The Most Delicious Pizza In NYC, Ranked
BY FLETCHER HUNTLEY
20. Espresso Pizzeria
Espresso Pizzeria in Brooklyn’s Italian-American neighborhood, Bay Ridge, is a can’t-miss spot if you’re craving a classic slice of authentic NY pizza.
The humble, no-frills slice shop displays its simple offerings on a letterboard above the red-hot pizza ovens. Don’t forget an order of delicious garlic knots to go with your pie.
19. Lucali
Among Brooklyn’s brownstones, you’ll find Lucali, a rustic, old-timey pizzeria that slings some of the city’s best slices and happens to be a favorite of Beyoncé and Jay-Z.
The restaurant serves calzones and pies made from time-honored recipes with fresh, local ingredients. Just remember to stop at an ATM on the way, as this business is cash-only.
18. Una Pizza Napoletana
Una has won numerous awards for its pizza, which pairs a thin crust with high-quality ingredients like San Marzano tomatoes, buffalo mozzarella, and Amalfi oregano.
Self-taught chef Anthony Mangieri is the brains behind Una. If you want to try this spot, plan in advance, as the restaurant is only open Thursday through Saturday.
17. Upside Pizza
Midtown is considered a must-avoid food wasteland by many New Yorkers, but Upside Pizza is nothing to sneeze at and slings some of the best slices the neighborhood has to offer.
The pizzeria uses a sourdough base for crust, giving it a zingy, slightly tangy flavor. You can also find other Upside Pizza locations in Manhattan and Greenpoint.
16. Ace's Perfect Pizza
If you’re tired of New York-style pizza, head to Ace’s for a signature Detroit-style pie, which is a deep-dish rectangular pizza with a crusty yet fluffy dough and crispy cheese.
Topping at Ace’s include the “pepper trio” with jalapeños, bell peppers, sweetie drops, and chili honey, and a vegan option with non-dairy mozzarella and basil leaves.
