The Microwave Trick For Quicker Crispy Potatoes
BY NIKKI MUNOZ
To save time in the kitchen when cooking crispy potatoes, use your microwave, and finish by crisping them up using your preferred method.
Put the potatoes in a microwave-safe bowl and cover with plastic wrap. For baby or diced potatoes, microwave for two or three minutes, and for whole potatoes, start with four.
The potatoes may need more time depending on your microwave's wattage and the size of the potato chunks. If you stick a knife in the potato and it comes out clean, they're done.
Whatever type of potatoes you use, they should be diced for the crisping step. To finish them off in the oven, the potatoes will need about 20 minutes.
To crisp them on the stovetop, heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat, then add the potatoes and cook for about 10 minutes or until they've reached your desired crispiness.
