The Meal King Charles Almost Always Skips
By KATIE HORST
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and King Charles III definitely knows it. While the king's breakfast is simple — usually just seasonal fruit salad, seeds, and tea — it’s enough to get him through rigorous working hours, especially because there’s one meal he always skips out on due to his busy schedule.
The king's early and simple breakfast will typically last him until teatime at 5:00 p.m., meaning he skips lunch on most days. Former royal correspondent Gordon Rayner says that King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla believe lunch is a luxury that interrupts the work day and interferes with their schedules.
The Daily Mail reports that even those who work for the king have learned to eat a big breakfast, or they’ll have to work for a while with a rumbling stomach. While King Charles III takes his teatime late afternoon, he continues to work until 8:30 p.m., when he will have dinner, and the king usually skips dessert as well.
