The Lavazza Whole-Bean Coffees You Should Never Buy, According To Our Taste Test
BY Luna Christina Lupus
In our ranking of nine Lavazza whole-bean coffees, Classico took the bottom (ninth) spot, while Dolcevita Classico and Super Crema took the seventh and eighth spots, respectively.
Classico ranked lowest due to its flat flavor and aroma. In the U.S., Classico has recently been rebranded as Dolcevita Classico, with Lavazza saying only the package has changed.
However, our reviewer found the U.S. version to be more pronounced, featuring mild undertones of dried fruit, as the package promises. Still, the overall cup was nothing special.
Made from 60% Arabica and 40% Robusta, Super Crema promises a sweet and bitter aroma with a full-bodied flavor, but customers report that the taste is mostly just bitter.
Though Super Crema is made from espresso beans (not regular coffee beans), many have reported a lack of crema. Hence, it's best to avoid this blend and the other two we mentioned.
