The Last Thing You Should Do Before Tossing Empty Butter Wrappers
By STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
There are several ways that butter wrappers can be repurposed, and the simplest way to use your butter to the end is to swipe the wrappers across your cooking or baking pans.
Since butter wrappers are flexible, you should be able to grease the sides and corners of your pan easily, and you can avoid greasy fingers by only touching the outside.
This trick is ideal for buttering up sheet pans, loaf pans, and cake pans, but it’s also good for sautéing meat or veggies in a skillet or making pancakes on a griddle.
If you have butter wrappers you don’t need immediately, save them by freezing them in a plastic bag, or just keep them in the fridge if you plan to use them within a few days.
