Humankind has spent its existence staring into the starry night sky in awe, fascinated by the great unknown. Now Coca-Cola is attempting to bring the taste of the universe home by introducing a new beverage, Coca-Cola Starlight, whose flavor is as mysterious as the cosmos.

It all began when astronomers discovered a dust cloud in the Milky Way made up of ethyl formate, the same chemical that gives raspberries their flavor. This led people to wonder what space might taste like, and Coca-Cola aims to answer that question with its new red-tinted drink "inspired by space."

Coke’s announcement that the flavor is “reminiscent of stargazing around a campfire" has led some to speculate that it might taste more like s'mores, with conflicting reports of mint and cinnamon spice. We’ll all find out when Starlight is released soon for a limited time.
