The Ingredient That Will Change Your Popcorn Forever
By TALIN VARTANIAN
Whether it’s salty, sweet, or drenched in butter, popcorn is one of the most customizable snacks around. If you're a fan of caramel corn and other sweet varieties of the classic movie munch, you can use this one pantry staple to create a deliciously nutty, dessert-like popcorn experience.
A 50/50 mixture of peanut butter and oil can be substituted for traditional butter on popcorn. Just drizzle the PB mix over your freshly popped corn and pair it with chocolate, cinnamon, and/or sugar for a sweet treat, or add a little salt for a more savory profile.
A great recipe for peanut butter popcorn comes from Food Network, and involves melting sugar and honey over medium heat before adding salt, vanilla extract, and peanut butter. Mix the sauce with popcorn and peanuts and cool it on a baking sheet before digging in.
