The Iconic Sandwich At Gordon Ramsay’s Hell’s Kitchen Restaurants With An Insulting Name
BY COURTNEY ISEMAN
Chef Gordon Ramsay's high-octane and sometimes rude demeanor and antics have inspired a dish, called the Idiot Sandwich, available at some of his Hell's Kitchen restaurants.
The sandwich includes braised short rib, both Gruyère and cheddar cheeses, and roasted mushrooms, all slathered with spicy tomato chutney on sourdough.
The name comes from a parody sketch, where Ramsay is seen putting two pieces of bread on either side of a person's head and asking them to call themselves "an idiot sandwich."
