The Historic London Cafe That Pays Tribute To Princess Diana's Life
BY COURTNEY ISEMAN
Abdul Daoud opened Cafe Diana in Notting Hill in 1989, naming it after the princess. She took her sons to the cafe, and it has since become a living memorial to Princess Diana.
Princess Diana enjoyed cappuccinos and baked items like croissants or cakes, while her sons preferred full English breakfasts like plates of meat with eggs, beans, and toast.
One day, Daoud asked Princess Diana for a photo to hang on the wall, and she humbly obliged. This act has since inspired dozens more photos of her that now line every wall.
The cafe also has letters from the royal thanking Daoud and his staff for sending her flowers on her birthday. Visitors can still order the same menu items the princess loved.
