The Hardest Restaurant Reservations To Lock Down In Washington D.C.
BY Simon Feisthauer Fournet
Pineapple and Pearls
Timing is everything if you're trying to get a prime reservation at the famous Michelin two-star Pineapple & Pearls, especially on a Friday or a weekend.
Reservations typically open at noon on the first of the previous month and fill up fast. While you might find availability for later dates, booking early is your best bet.
Minibar
José Andrés' Minibar offers reservations for parties of one to four guests, with only 12 seats available per service. These reservations are prepaid.
They often sell out fast, so book your seat as soon as the slots open. A waitlist is available for sold-out dates; the eatery will contact guests if a spot opens up.
Rose's Luxury
Created by the chef behind Pineapple & Pearls, Rose's Luxury is a Michelin-starred gem. The reservations drop on the first of each month at noon for the next month.
The spots fill up fast, but the eatery saves a few seats for walk-ins. For a last-minute table, the bar is a great choice as it often has available seats and offers the full menu.
The Dabney
Reservations for this Michelin-starred eatery open weeks in advance on OpenTable, and weekends fill up fast. You can also walk-in and try to get a seat at the bar.
Sushi Taro
Reservations for Sushi Taro Omakase Counter are released a month in advance at midnight. To secure a seat, set up a Resy account with your payment details preloaded.
You can also book a seat via email. Cancellations within a week incur a $100 to $150 fee; a cancellation with less than a 24 hours notice results in a full charge of $275 to $350.
