The Grocery Chain That Outsells Whole Foods In Organic Produce
BY Claire Redden
While Whole Foods may be one of the best grocery stores for organic shopping, one grocer has the chain beat in organic produce sales: Costco.
HuffPost reported on an earnings call transcript with Costco's chief financial officer, Richard Galanti, stating that the chain did over $4 billion in organic produce sales.
This surpassed Whole Foods' results, which BMO Capital estimated to average out at about $3.6 billion per year in 2015.
Costco reached $6 billion in sales in 2024 to make it the largest retailer of organic produce in the U.S., representing a huge number in the total organic food industry.
