The Go-To Wines To Bring To Your Next Potluck
BY JAIMIE MACKEY
When choosing a wine for a potluck, find a bottle that checks three important boxes: approachable but not boring, light, and affordable enough to get multiple bottles.
For red wine, look for one that's light- or medium-bodied, with a good balance between fruit flavors, tannins, and acidity, such as Cabernet Franc and Gamay.
When it comes to white wine, choose one that has richness and depth that's still bright enough to be paired with your potluck spread, such as a Sauvignon Blanc or Chenin Blanc.
If you’re also supplying the bubbly, try Vouvray, which features delicate bubbles with aromas of pear, apple, and honeysuckle, or you can opt for a dry Brut or sweet demi-sec.
