The Giant Texas Roadhouse Steak You Should Avoid Ordering
BY Luna Regina
The country-fried sirloin at Texas Roadhouse is best avoided. Marketed as "fresh-cut sirloin," it's a paper-thin cut blanketed in a thick breading and slathered in white gravy.
A major red flag is that crispy coating and white gravy are hallmarks of chicken-fried steak, not country-fried. Plus, despite being sliced paper-thin, the meat is still chewy.
Instead of getting a rich, creamy sauce as its gravy, the dish comes in a chalky mixture with an odd smoky undertone and enough salt to make you reach for water on the first bite.
