The Frozen Trader Joe's Shrimp Fans Swear By
By ALI FAGAN
Trader Joe’s has quite the cult following, and while classic fan favorite products will always reign supreme, shoppers have found a new obsession: TJ's frozen Wild Caught Red Argentinian Shrimp. Trader Joe’s claims that the shrimp “boast flavor and texture so similar to lobster, you might just think the bag was mislabeled."
Elliott, the creator behind @callmebelly on TikTok, confirmed to their followers that this shrimp does, in fact, taste like lobster. More than that, the Wild Caught Red Argentinian Shrimp are large, with about 20-25 shrimp per pound, making them even more of an enticing purchase for lobster lovers and bargain shoppers alike.
The shrimp are wild-caught in Patagonia, not farmed, which makes the Wild Caught Red Argentinian shrimp even better, since wild-caught products can be hard to find. You can use these shrimp as you would any other fresh variety, in dishes like shrimp scampi or garlic butter shrimp; just be sure to thaw them as needed.
