The Frozen Lasagna You Should Leave Off Your Grocery List
BY Daraisha Cosby
When it comes to frozen meals, lasagna tops the list with its comforting, hearty appeal. However, Great Value Meat Lovers Lasagna is one frozen lasagna brand that's best avoided.
This frozen dish promises a meaty feast, but Tasting Table's Dora Nuss-Warren discovered that it falls dramatically short. The meat is sparse, leaving you with a thin, bland meal.
The cheese — an essential component of any good lasagna — fails to provide the creamy richness you crave. Plus, its sodium content is too high, at 1,160 milligrams per serving.
The sodium content the brand serves is roughly half of the U.S. daily allowance of 2,300 milligrams for those 14 years old and over, which is a hefty amount for just one meal.
