The Fiery Ingredient Yotam Ottolenghi Adds To Scrambled Eggs
By CLAIRE REDDEN
In an interview with Condé Nast Traveller, chef Yotam Ottolenghi revealed a must-have item that is often present on his shopping list, and it's perfect for flavorful scrambled eggs.
Ottolenghi loves the Turkish chili paste biber salçası, saying, “You can be pretty liberal with this chili paste. It's not as spicy as harissa but is way more punchy than passata.”
Ottolenghi adds that the biber salçası “is brilliant just stirred through scrambled eggs.” The paste can be purchased online from Turkish Food Basket for as little as $8.
Made from a blend of either hot or mild sun-dried sweet peppers, biber salçası is sure to delight those who want a bigger punch of spicy and vegetal flavor in their scrambled eggs.
