The Factor That Is Most Important When Buying Steak

Steak is a luxurious dish for special occasions, but when it comes to preparing it yourself, ordering from the local butcher or grocery store can be a bit overwhelming if you don’t know where to start. Before you grab the first cut of steak that looks good, you should inspect how thick the steak is for several reasons.
You may think that a thin-cut steak saves you money, but Food Fire Friends says that stores often chop a thick steak in half and raise the price, so it only looks like thinner steaks are more affordable. A thick-cut steak has a better value and allows you to cook the meat to your liking while keeping it tender with a great outer crust.
Per My Chicago Steak, the key to cooking steak is that for every half-inch over the first inch of thickness, add an extra five minutes of cooking (this may vary depending on how well-done you like your steak). Try not to buy steaks that are less than one and a half inches thick, which are at risk of overcooking.
