The Easiest Way To Give Sandwiches More Flavor Is Often Completely Ignored
BY Mathieson Nishimura
If you've ever coveted a diner or restaurant-quality sandwich, there's one simple trick to flavor up your homemade version: add extra seasoning with regular salt and pepper.
Seasoning tomatoes with salt and pepper draws out excess moisture and concentrates that bright flavor, all while keeping bread fresh. Pepper also enhances the deli meat's taste.
Pepper can also flavor up the onions, lettuce, avocado, and more. Even if the meats are already seasoned, a little salt is a major flavor booster, so don't be afraid to add a dash.
For a good spread of flavor, lay the ingredients out and season each side with salt and pepper rather than attempting to do so on top of your already assembled sandwich.
