The 'Disposable' Knife David Chang Suggests For Your Kitchen

Most pro chefs are quite opinionated about kitchen equipment, and David Chang believes that every kitchen should have a serrated knife, even though it won't last forever.
Serrated knives aren't "disposable" in the way a plastic knife is, but Chang calls them that because they can’t be sharpened well due to the teeth-like serrations.
Even though these knives can't be maintained so they last forever, Chang still considers them invaluable in the kitchen, since they can do many tasks that other knives cannot.
While you can’t sharpen serrated knives, you can prolong their life span by investing in a high-quality knife, hand washing it, and storing it in a knife sheath.
