The Dehydrated Ingredient For Mouthwatering French Fries
By MICHELLE WELSCH
If you think crispy homemade fries can’t get any better, just wait until you add a pinch of pickle powder, the perfect acidic pairing for salty french fries.
Whether you choose to dehydrate pickles in the oven or your dehydrator, you’ll be rewarded with an easy-to-use ingredient that offers an immediate, tangy kick of salty vinegar.
If you’re already making french fries in an air fryer, you can use the same appliance to prepare dried pickles. As you cut the pickles, keep in mind that thinner slices are better.
Once dried, dehydrated pickles offer a fun snack, yet for our fry-making purposes, you’ll want to grind the dehydrated pickles into a fine powder.
You can store the powder you don’t use in an airtight container for six months. If you’re not a fan of pickles, you can follow the same process with garlic to make garlic powder.
