The Aperol spritz may be the most famous spritz drink, but you can put a spin on it by using any alcohol you prefer, including tequila. You just need to use the proper ratio.
The ideal ratio for a tequila spritz is 2 ounces of tequila, 2 ounces of an aperitif, and 4-6 ounces of a bubbly ingredient like prosecco, cava, soda, sparkling water, or tonic water.
Once you have the basic ratio down, you can experiment with different kinds of tequila, like a light blanco, a complex reposado, a robust anejo, or even a smoky mezcal.
This ratio can be scaled up for a batch of drinks to serve a crowd, and you can have more fun with it by swapping the Aperol for another aperitif or a fruit juice like pineapple.
