The Crucial Ingredient For A Homemade Magic Shell On Your Ice Cream

Magic shell chocolate sauce is a liquid condiment that hardens in seconds. To make it at home you’ll need rich dark chocolate and, the most crucial ingredient, coconut oil.
Rich in saturated fats, coconut oil helps transform your melted rich dark chocolate into something that hardens quickly but still maintains a velvety texture and glossy shine.
To make a DIY magic shell sauce, use high-quality dark chocolate. You can use either refined or unrefined coconut oil, but unrefined will impart a stronger coconut flavor.
Chop your dark chocolate (roughly 1 cup) and add it to a double boiler. Then, add two tablespoons of coconut oil and allow both to melt, stirring occasionally.
Once melted, you’ll want to use your sauce immediately, so make sure you have your bowl of ice cream already prepared and waiting.
