The Clever Reason Costco Is Constantly Moving Products Around
BY PEGGY AOKI
Costco deliberately moves products around to encourage shoppers to explore and discover new items, leading to increased spending and the potential for finding unexpected goods.
While their fresh and frozen foods are always in the same place, they're strategically located near the store's rear so that shoppers must navigate around enticing impulse items.
The central part of the store, dubbed "the racetrack," leads you to all the major store sections. Opting to cut through will expose you to even more unplanned items.
Costco is also constantly rotating seasonal items into stock and replacing items that don't sell well or have been discontinued, and that also changes where items are stocked.
