The Buttery 4-Ingredient Sauce That Will Take Steak To Another Tier
BY JOHN TOLLEY
There are many great sauces you can pair with steak, but the best ones can be the simplest. A great combo to try is butter, roasted garlic, Worcestershire sauce, and dry vermouth.
Start by melting a few tablespoons of butter in a pan over medium-low heat and let it bubble and simmer until it becomes golden brown. This will add a nutty, caramelized richness.
Next, add a splash of dry vermouth, and let the liquid simmer, allowing the alcohol to evaporate. It leaves behind a sweetness that will balance the savory notes of the steak.
Add in a few cloves of garlic that have been slow-roasted and peeled. Whisk the softened cloves into the pan with the butter and vermouth.
The final touch is a splash of Worcestershire, which ties everything together. It's rich in umami and lends depth and complexity to the sauce for a truly standout steak partner.
