The Boston Cooler Is A Lighter And Zestier Version Of The Root Beer Float
BY NIKKI MUNOZ
To experience a lighter, zestier version of a root beer float, turn to Boston Cooler. It's similar to a root beer float, except the root beer is swapped out for ginger ale.
Unlike the root beer float, the Boston Cooler consists of ice cream and ginger ale being blended, rather than just the soda being poured over the scoops of ice cream.
Traditionally, it's made with Vernors ginger ale and vanilla ice cream. To get started, simply blend 3 scoops of ice cream and 12 ounces of ginger ale in a blender until smooth.
If you're not a traditionalist, you can try a different flavor of ice cream, add a shot of vodka for a boozy drink, or make it akin to a root beer by pouring soda over ice cream.
