The Booze You Should Use To Brighten Up Cranberry Ricotta Cake
BY NIKKI MUNOZ
The secret ingredient in Tasting Table's cranberry ricotta cake recipe is a tablespoon of Grand Marnier, an orange liqueur that’s used to brighten up the flavor of the cake.
The recipe, which also uses orange zest, features the bright tartness of the orange and cranberry flavors as well as the ricotta’s creaminess, yielding a deliciously moist cake.
Recipe developer Jessica Morone says you can use any orange liqueur instead of pricey Grand Marnier, or swap it out for orange juice, as the citrus flavor is the main factor.
