The Best Fish Sandwich Actually Comes From A Chain Known For Fried Chicken

Oddly, in our ranking of fast-food fish sandwiches, a fried chicken chain offering came in first. It was Popeye's can flounder sandwich, which comes in spicy and regular varieties.
Except for its seasonal availability, the sandwich stands out in all aspects. For instance, it bucks the bland pollock trend by using tasty flounder, which holds up well to frying.
Paralleling Popeye's chicken sandwich, the fish sandwich features the same bun and Louisiana seasoning. It also boasts pickle slices and a pickle-rich tartar sauce in lieu of mayo.
Fans say it actually tastes like fish, and the filet has a crispy outside and a tender, flaky inside. Value-wise, the filet is way larger than most other fast-food sandwiches.
