The 3 Telltale Signs Of An Excellent Pour-Over Coffee
BY RYAN CASHMAN
A cup of pour-over coffee can be more flavorful than coffee from a traditional drip machine, and there are three aspects to pay attention to for the perfect cup.
To make a pour-over coffee, you pour hot water over the grounds in swirling, circular motions, which extracts more flavor from the beans and creates a more even brew.
To ensure success, the coffee grounds need to be as flat as the panhandle, with no peaks or valleys. Secondly, there should be a uniform crust on the grounds for consistency.
Lastly, the filter needs to be clean, with no errant coffee grounds stuck to the sides. Keeping these three signs in mind will ensure maximum flavor extraction.
