The 2-Ingredient Jack Daniel's Cocktail That Packs A Nostalgic Punch
BY AUSTIN HAVENS-BOWEN
If you want to add a dose of nostalgia to your cocktails, try the apple jack, an easy 2-ingredient drink that combines Jack Daniels and a childhood favorite beverage: apple juice.
The Tennessee-made whiskey offers smoky and sweet flavors with notes of vanilla and oak, and apple juice's tart sweetness perfectly balances its deep and smoky flavors.
First, pour two ounces of Jack Daniel's (or more if you want a stiff drink) into a highball glass filled with ice. You can also use any other whiskey brand you usually drink.
Top the drink off with apple juice — fresh is better, but you can also use a store-bought variety. Finally, use an apple slice as a garnish and serve it with a bendy straw.
You can also swap apple juice for hard apple cider to double the booze, apple-flavored hard seltzer to add carbonation, or fresh apple cider to add more tang and fresher flavors.
