Tasty Toppings That Add Texture To PB&J Sandwiches

Coconut
Adding dried and toasted coconut on top of a PB&J gives it a touch of tropical flavor and texture. You can then customize the recipe with spices, seasonings, and sweeteners.
Feel free to season coconut flakes with chili or cumin beforehand. You can also roast them in coconut oil for added sweetness and crown your recipes with maple syrup.
With bacon as your topping, you can make a knockoff Fool's Gold Loaf, the kind of PB&J Elvis Presley loved. All you need are a few strips of maple-cinnamon candied bacon.
Using toasted nuts or store-bought trail mix can amplify the PB&J sandwich experience and bring even more crunch. Simply roast the nuts of your choice and season them.
Next, sprinkle them on top of your jelly-topped toast. You can use anything from toasted cashews sweetened with honey to tamari almonds or even a nut mix.
