Take Cookies To Another Level Using A Splash of Bourbon
BY KAT LIEU
Before you whip up your next batch of cookies, there's one ingredient you should be sure to reach for to provide a burst of warm, sweet, caramelized flavor: bourbon.
Since bourbon plays so well with common cookie ingredients like butter, brown sugar, chocolate, nuts, it’ll improve a variety of cookies, such as ginger snaps or sugar cookies.
Start by beating together butter, vanilla extract, and sugar. Swap out the vanilla extract with about a tablespoon of bourbon, or twice as much as you would vanilla extract.
Then, proceed with the rest of the instructions. Once the cookies are out of the oven, brush the tops of the cookies with a bit more bourbon for a boozy glaze.
