Swap Mayo With Aioli For An Elevated Tuna Salad Sandwich
BY AUSTIN HAVENS-BOWEN
A bowl of classic tuna salad gets its creaminess and tanginess from mayonnaise mixed with other ingredients, but you can easily swap it with aioli to elevate its taste further.
Aioli and mayonnaise are not extremely different, so the aioli will still pull together the tuna flakes and other ingredients like celery and onions.
An authentic aioli is traditionally a thick emulsion of olive oil and garlic but may also include lemon juice, parsley, or anchovy paste for more flavor.
Consequently, using aioli instead of mayo will give your tuna salad a rich flavor boost from the fresh garlic while making it just as creamy.
