Lasagnas can fall short if the stacked layers don't offer the same amount of flavor and culminate into a flavorless mess instead. Luckily, a tip from Giada De Laurentiis can help.
In 2016, Giada told Bon Appétit that the most mishandled dish is lasagna, explaining, “A lot of the time, it's watery, drenched in red sauce, and filled with [flavorless] ricotta.”
“The problem … is when people don't season each layer,” she said. As she advises, after spreading the ricotta or bechamel and tomato sauce, add salt, pepper, and herbs and repeat.
