Save Time And Roast Canned Potatoes For The Simplest Side Dish
BY ELIZABETH OKOSUN
The most elaborate meals may take hours to prepare, but you can cut back on time with a few shortcuts, like using canned potatoes to make roasted potatoes.
Technically, you don’t need to cook canned potatoes, but they’ll taste much better heated up, and roasting will leave them with a crisp exterior and creamy interior.
Plus, canned potatoes require only 25 minutes in the oven at 400 degrees Fahrenheit, compared to the 50 minutes that fresh potatoes take.
Rinse the canned potatoes to remove any excess salt. Then, pat them dry, and season with olive oil or butter, salt, pepper, and your favorite seasonings before roasting.
