Remove Rust From Your Cast Iron Skillet With One Kitchen Tool
BY Josie Dlugosz
Cast iron skillets are an incredibly versatile tool and can improve the flavor of your food. However, they can be prone to rusting without constant cleaning.
Don't be alarmed if you see rust on your cast iron skillet; you can remove it with Scotch-Brite steel wool. First, you'll want to scrub it well with the steel wool.
Once you get all the grime and corrosion off with steel wool, clean it with soap and dry it with a paper towel. Then, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
Coat the skillet with a little cooking oil and place it upside down in the center of the preheated oven with a baking tray underneath it. It should be as good as new after an hour.
