Ranking Trader Joe's Teas From Worst To Best
BY JULIA DUDA
16. Cold Brew Iced Tea
Trader Joe's cold brew iced tea — which is black tea flavored with lemon — is convenient, as it brews tea really fast, but its flavor is simply not good.
The culprit is the lemon flavoring, which tastes harsh and artificial instead of light and fresh. The flavor is so overpowering that the tea itself is almost unnoticeable.
15. Blood Orange
Trader Joe's rooibos herbal tea blend with blood orange flavoring actually isn't all that citrusy, nor does the blood orange essence taste much like blood orange.
It tastes a bit harsh and medicinal, with sharp and bitter "citrus" notes. At least the blood orange flavor isn't as oppressive as the lemon flavor in the previous tea blend.
14. Moroccan Mint
Trader Joe's Moroccan mint green tea doesn't have anything inherently bad, but it simply lacks in flavor. You may even struggle to find any minty notes in it.
It's got the classic earthy flavors of a regular green tea. So, it really just tastes like green tea with the tiniest whisper of mint, which might even be a good thing for some.
13. Ginger Turmeric
Trader Joe's organic ginger turmeric herbal tea has some subtle spicy notes, but you may be disappointed with the absence of any real ginger depth.
The tea is very comforting and fragrant, but the flavor is definitely inadequate. If you're a big ginger-turmeric tea fan, you'd be best off opting for a different brand.
12. Darjeeling Green Tea
Where your typical plain green tea has notes of subtle grassiness, Trader Joe's Organic Darjeeling Green Tea leans heavily into those grassy notes.
If you enjoy super-strong, earthy green tea, you will enjoy this version, but keep in mind that with all that grassiness also comes a bitter aftertaste, which could be a bit harsh.
