Ranking Trader Joe's Bagged Popcorn Flavors From Worst To Best
BY Julia Duda
7. Organic Popcorn
While there's nothing egregiously wrong with the Organic Popcorn with Organic Extra-Virgin Olive Oil, there's also nothing really right about it.
The flavor is incredibly bland. It has maybe the slightest bit of olive oil flavor, but not enough to make this popcorn particularly memorable.
6. Herbs and Spices
Trader Joe's popcorn with herbs and spices has savory additions like celery salt, dill, and onion powder. Unfortunately, the flavor is disappointingly mellow.
It is very celery salt-forward, but this flavor alone was not nearly enough to make the snack as a whole particularly interesting or memorable.
5. White Cheddar
Like many of the other weaker flavors on this list, the white cheddar popcorn from Trader Joe's is a bit disappointing all-around.
It has an enjoyable, distinct white cheddar flavor and a notable velvety-like coating, but some competitor brands of white cheddar popcorn are simply better.
4. Kettle Corn
Trader Joe's kettle corn doesn't exactly live up to the tasty history of fresh, open-fire roasted kettle corn. This stuff bag can only retain so much fresh flavor.
While it could have used a bit more of everything overall, this kettle corn had a nice flavor, offering a balance of sweet and salty flavors.
3. Movie Theater
Few brands manage to get classic, buttery, "movie theater" popcorn right, but Trader Joe's Movie Theater Popcorn comes pretty close.
The most successful aspect of this popcorn was its rich, buttery flavor. Something about this popcorn feels like it's from a movie theater, though it's not entirely the same.
