Ranking Store-Bought Buffalo Sauces From Worst To Best
By Matt Turner
12. Dougie's
Despite being called "premium Buffalo wings sauce," Dougie's is more of a barbecue sauce. It's not a bad sauce, but it just doesn't cut it as a Buffalo sauce.
Hot Ones' "classic hot sauce" is dominated by the subtle, natural sweetness from the peppers in the recipe, and it doesn't make the cut as a worthwhile Buffalo sauce.
Mikee had a slightly higher heat level than most of the sauces on this list, but it seemed a strange blend of Buffalo sauce and sriracha that isn’t the best for wings.
The Whole Foods' hot honey-flavored sauce isn't the best for wings. It simply tasted like hot honey thinned out and didn't have the typical Buffalo sauce flavor components.
Texas Pete has a fine flavor and a heat level of around five out of 10, but nothing really stood out flavor-wise, and it’s thin and did not coat the wings very well.
