Ranking Store-Bought Boxed Chocolates From Worst To Best
BY Sara Klimek
12. Queen Anne
Based on the label, you might expect Queen Anne's cordial cherries to have a lot of cherries; however, this isn't the case.
A sickeningly sweet, condensed milk-like filling and the smallest morsel of cherry imaginable will meet you as you bite into each of these chocolates.
11. Whitman's
Whitman's are available all year at Walmart. They're a budget-friendly selection with 22 candies, ranging from nut caramels to peanut clusters.
The diversity is definitely here, but the quality is not. The chocolate-covered peanuts are the only candy in this box worth eating, but the nuts inside even taste stale.
10. Godiva Goldmark
Although it cost a whopping $10 more than the Whitman's sampler and Russell Stover boxes, the Godiva Goldmark box only came with a total of nine candies.
From a quality perspective, Godiva did better than some other brands. However, its high price for a low quantity hurt its overall ranking.
9. Russell Stover
A slightly higher-quality product than Whitman's for a similar price, Russell Stover offers 10 flavors in a box of 16 candies.
Though Russell Stover dipped its foot in the water with complex flavors, it didn't really take a deep enough dive for the chocolates to be successful.
8. Lindt
The candies in this box are similar to the regular balls of Lindt truffles, just with a little bit more going on in terms of texture.
Unfortunately, Lindt's truffles were somewhat disappointing. They weren't anything particularly high-quality or special — this is one brand that's all packaging and no show.
