Ranking Popeyes' Side Dishes From Worst To Best

6. Red Beans and Rice
Popeyes' red beans and rice leaves much to be desired. You can see oil floating on top of the beans, and the dish has an incredibly mushy texture overall.
The red beans and rice are far too salty and taste incredibly processed. The entire dish has an artificial chemical-esque flavor that isn't very appetizing.
5. Mashed Potatoes
With its incredibly thin-looking gravy, Popeyes' mashed potatoes with cajun gravy don't appeal to the eye and aren't likely to make you eager to try a bite.
They are smooth and relatively firm, but everything else is wrong. The gravy tastes liquid-y, salty, and greasy, which slightly masks the disappointing instant mashed potatoes.
4. Coleslaw
Coleslaw at Popeyes looks fairly dressing-heavy and yet retains a good bite. The dressing unexpectedly has a slightly sweet flavor, though it's not off-putting.
Despite being finely diced, the cabbage was firm enough to taste fresh, the thin carrot pieces had a subtle crunch, and the flavor of each vegetable came through.
