21. Josephsbrau
Josephsbrau märzen-style lager contains 5.3% ABV and an International Bittering Units rating of 25, which falls on the higher spectrum for Oktoberfest-style beers.
This Trader Joe's Oktoberfest beer has an amber color and filtered appearance with a strong malt flavor; however, its taste seems closer to pumpkin beer.
20. Saranac
Brewed in Upstate New York, Saranac 1888 Octoberfest is a medium-amber brew with only a slight aroma and a 5.4% ABV.
Unfortunately, the Saranac 1888 Octoberfest doesn't have a strong punch of flavor. It features a toasted malt flavor and notes of hops.
19. Shiner
Shiner Oktoberfest is a Texas-brewed märzen-style that leans into the traditional way of making Oktoberfest-style beers.
Its traditional characteristics mean the beer is a bit stronger, darker, and has a low carbonation level. It has a slightly bready aroma and a sweet, malt-forward flavor.
18. Toppling Goliath
At 5.2% ABV, Toppling Goliath's Oktoberfest beer has one of the lowest alcohol content. The Iowa-brewed beer has a deep golden-amber color with a good head.
The bottle claims it's unfiltered, which means it may have sediment. While it does deliver the notes you might expect, its aroma and flavor were somewhat lacking.
17. Lawson's
While Lawson's Finest Liquids products are typically excellent, their 5.3% ABV Fest Bier fails to deliver a satisfying Oktoberfest vibe.
Thanks to the noble hops that Lawson's uses, you get a complex flavor with floral notes and toasted malt. The beer has a pale gold color and a high level of carbonation.
