8. Trader Joe's
The organic low-fat cottage cheese ranks low due to its subpar taste, nonexistent curd size, and poor texture, similar to a cold soup with some dairy chunks.
7. Daisy
This low-fat cottage cheese has an off-putting smell, an excessive liquid film on top, and a strange flavor. Although it's creamy, the thick liquid doesn't mix well.
6. Great Value
Walmart's in-house brand's cottage cheese is priced at only $2.94. The 4% milk fat version had a great texture, and the curd size was optimal.
The only reason Great Value ranked this low was that it had absolutely zero flavor, and it didn't even have a smell.
5. Good & Gather
Target's in-house brand's 1% cottage cheese has a typical liquid film and decent texture, but the flavor was bland and the curds are slightly larger than others.
4. Friendship Dairies
This 1% cottage cheese has a very thin layer of film on top, but it mixes well with the rest of the product, and its flavor is decent compared to the others.
It is pricier than some other cottage cheeses, and the flavor is a bit controversial, as some may not like its unique, fairly sour flavor.
