Ranking Cinnamon Whiskeys From Worst To Best
BY Abigail Bliss
13. Sinfire
Sinfire Cinnamon Whisky largely masks the cinnamon aroma, but the spice is perceptible when sipped. There's also a bitterness to the finish that lingers too long.
The brand recommends serving this 70-proof spirit chilled, and it's truly far better that way. It isn't exactly a complete loss, considering its affordable price point.
12. Watkins
The Watkins Cinnamon Apple Bourbon Whiskey has an aroma reminiscent of bourbon-spiked apple pie, heavy with warm baking spices and sweetness, but it's a bit syrupy.
Although all of the whiskey's flavors work wonderfully well together, the presence of cinnamon is greatly overpowered by the apple notes in the spirit.
11. Jack Daniel's
Jack Daniel's Tennessee Fire is a budget-friendly option. The nose proudly reveals the spirit as a cinnamon whiskey, which tastes quite pleasant on the first swig.
It's reminiscent of Atomic Fireball jawbreakers. The sweet spiciness evolves into a satisfying warmth, but the finish takes a sharp turn to bitterness, and the astringency lingers.
10. Fireball
Fireball Cinnamon Whisky isn't particularly quality-driven. The spirit has a thick, syrupy viscosity that coats your mouth and makes the red-hot cinnamon flavor linger.
Sweetness balances out a bit of the heat, but with all the spiky flavoring, the whiskey notes are almost entirely lost. However, the spirit is easy to find and quite affordable.
9. Spitball
Cooperstown Distillery’s Spitball Cinnamon Whiskey offers a mild sweetness on the nose. Its cinnamon notes crescendo after the first sip, turning into a mild spiciness.
Spitball offers a natural flavor but has a disappointingly short finish. That said, it doesn't cover up the spirit too much and claims to use 50% less sugar than competing brands.
