Prep Beef Patties In A Waffle Iron For Crispy And Easy Smash Burgers
BY STEPHANIE FRIEDMAN
Smash burgers are typically made using a grill press or spatula, but by using a waffle iron, you can cook both sides while bypassing flipping the meat and manually smashing it.
Use thin patties or balls made from the leanest meat possible to avoid excessive grease, and ensure you salt both sides of the patty right before it hits the heat.
Set your iron to its highest temperature and cook one patty at a time, placing it in the center and smashing the top down. The burger will be ready in about four minutes.
