Pickle Chips Are So Much Better When They're Baked With Cheese
BY EMMA SEGREST
By turns salty, tangy, and crisp, pickles are a well-balanced, flavorful snack, but they become even better if you bake them with cheese for easy pickle chips.
Cheesy pickles are heartier than plain pickles, but also serve as a lighter version of fried pickle chips, with no batter or deep-frying oil required.
To make these pickle crisps, start by patting sliced pickles dry. Place them on a lined baking sheet or muffin pan sandwiched between your cheese of choice, sliced or shredded.
Bake for about 15 minutes, or until the cheese starts to brown around the edges. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, let the chips cool, and pair them with a dipping sauce.
Experiment with the ratio of cheese you use, get creative with your cheese choices from parmesan to pepper jack, and try incorporating spices for extra flavor.
