Pakistani Club Sandwiches Vs American: What's The Difference?
BY AUSTIN HAVENS-BOWEN
You may think a club sandwich
is uniquely American, but Pakistan also has a version.
The lack of bacon and more flavorful chicken sets the Pakistani club sandwich apart.
The American version most often has three slices of toasted bread stacked with bacon,
sliced chicken or turkey,
tomato, lettuce, and
spoonfuls of mayonnaise.
The Pakistani version will still have three slices of bread,
but the chicken is often taken
to new heights with seasonings like garlic, red chili powder
for heat, and turmeric.
It likely won't have bacon since it's rare to find pork in Pakistan. Instead, a traditional Pakistani club will have eggs, either fried or as an omelet.
