One Popular Texas Roadhouse Item Is Actually Our Least Favorite
BY Luna Regina
Of the 12 popular Texas Roadhouse menu items we ranked, the least impressive was the Cactus Blossom starter, which should ideally be crispy, heavenly petals of beer-battered onion.
While the onion slivers were pleasantly sweet, our Tasting Table taste tester, Crawford Smith, experienced a greasy sensation from the moment he bit into the breading.
Others have found the starter to be drenched in odd-tasting oil, too. It reportedly has an uncooked center and is excessively salty, with the inner coating at its bottom being wet.
However, Smith found it tasteless. It required more salt and seasoning despite having 5,000 milligrams of sodium, and the accompanying horseradish sauce lacked the pizzazz to help.
